All is beautiful and near-perfect* on Chrome, Firefox 3.5.3, IE 8, Safari 4 (on a Windows XP platform).
An old Windows 98 box with IE 6 makes a mess of the footer on the html pages…does not under the CSS and sticks the ‘contact us, follow us’ elements near the bottom of the screen rather than the page.
So far no problems on Mac OS X browsers.
*Minor problems and adjustments:
1) All link specifications will need to be browser-safe colors. Right now, some of the links are colored #2dafa4 in their basic or active state, others are the color #33999, which is almost identical but browser-safe. #2dafa4 is the RGB color for the teal images, but it is not browser-safe, so sometimes the link colors default to a standard blue.
2) Georgia bold is used for heds in this blog portion, but the html pages have been switched to Georgia regular, which appear to be the original design. These fonts need to be reconciled, probably by making all heds Georgia regular. Georgia regular on a PC is thinner than on a Mac, and Georgia bold on a PC looks Bodoni-ish. So there will never been a perfect match. (The nav tabs above have already been restyled as Georgia regular.)
3) Still to do on the blog:
- add dotted teal border between posts (already added to teasers)
- remove border at top of footer
- bullets between footer nav links
- center top nav taps
- how to get the footer image and other items in there?
- miscellaneous things like the tag cloud and categories may need work
